Ryan Pulock scored the first New York Islanders goal at Barclays Center again.
It's not quite officially so -- these things tend to be recorded only for regular season games -- but the man who scored their first goal in a preseason game in Brooklyn was also the man to score their first playoff goal there Sunday night in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Round 1 series with the Florida Panthers.
(His preseason goal last year was notable because it took a couple of years...the Isles' first exhibition game in Brooklyn the previous year was a shutout loss.)
The playoff goal came on a vicious one-time blast from the point, the kind of shot Pulock has been known for since before his draft day. It was a big one as it cut the Isles deficit to 2-1 in the second period on a five-on-three power play, just minutes after they were an offside video review away from trailing 3-0.
Congratulations to Ryan Pulock, the Daughin, Manitoba-born former Brandon Wheat Kings star. May there be many more playoff blasts like that one.
