Having reached the playoffs in their first season in Brooklyn, the New York Islanders will receive broader radio coverage than normal.

The team announced playoff games against the Florida Panthers in their Eastern Conference Round 1 series will air on either CBS Radio's WFAN 660 AM/101.9 FM or WCBS Newsradio 880, starting Thursday night on WCBS 880 for Game 1 at [Bed, Bank & Beyond or something] Center in Sunrise, Florida. Regular announcers Chris King and Greg Picker will have the call.

Regular season games had been carried only by a trio of FM stations, WNYE 91.5 FM, WRHU 88.7 FM and LI NEWS 103.9 FM. All games in Round 1 will also be streamed live on www.wfan.com.

On April 17, the day of Game 3 and the first NHL playoff game in Barclays Center history, WFAN will broadcast live from Barclays Center with a two-hour pre-game show anchored by vocal Rangers fan Boomer Esiason and Chris Moore beginning at 6 p.m.
