After three consecutive preseason games, the Islanders were off yesterday. Today is the first day in the rest of your camp.

  • The Isles made several expected cuts, put Scott Mayfield on waivers for purposes of assigning him to Bridgeport, and held on to Mathew Barzal and Anthony Beauvillier...for now at least. [LHH | Newsday]
  • On that note, league prospect watcher Corey Pronman says Bridgeport-bound Joshua Ho-Sang and Michael Dal Colle had such good camps that the Isles can afford to return Barzal and Beauvillier to their junior teams. [SNY]
