The Islanders begin the first of three consecutive preseason games in the metro area tonight when they host the New Jersey Devils, whom they’ll also face on Wednesday.

Here are the reported lineups. First the Islanders, via Newsday’s Arthur Staple, with Ryan Strome getting a turn as first-line center and a fourth line of PTOs and a minor leaguer to fill out the 12 forwards:

Ladd-Strome-Parenteau
Quine-Nelson-Ho-Sang
Dal Colle-Barzal-Markison
Johnston-Gionta-Bernier

Leddy-Hamonic
Hickey-Boychuk
Toews-Burroughs

Thomas Greiss returns from the World Cup to make his preseason debut with Christopher Gibson backing up.

No Dennis Seidenberg, who just joined the team after signing last week, nor John Tavares, who is expected to be with the club on Tuesday after returning victorious from the World Cup.

For the Devils, via Andrew Gross and The Record’s Fire & Ice blog:

Miles Wood-Joseph Blandisi-Nick Lappin
Reid Boucher-Jacob Josefson-Blake Speers
Sergey Kalinin-Vern Fiddler-Devante Smith-Pelly
Blake Pietila-Rod Pelley-Blake Coleman

John Moore-Brandon Gormley
Seth Helgeson-Damon Severson
Steven Santini-Karl Stollery/Vojtech Mozik

Though that’s a rather anonymous lineup — expect more recognizable names for the return match in Newark on Wednesday — the Devils will have their regular goalie tandem with Corey Schneider expecting to play the full game and Keith Kinkaid backing up.
