The New York Islanders and Carolina Hurricanes meet up tonight in Halifax, Nova Scotia, for one of those neutral site games where the NHL brings some stars to a locale too small for an NHL franchise.
The game starts at 5 p.m. Eastern, and the lineups will have enough star power to excite the locals -- including an attractive Isles top line of John Tavares centering Anders Lee and Ryan Strome.
That and other lines reported by Arthur Staple of Newsday:
#Isles lines vs. CAR in Halifax today: Lee-Tavares-Strome, Nelson-Nielsen-Bailey, Beauvillier-Leblanc-Okposo, Vaive-Barzal-Boulton.

And the defense:
#Isles D/G vs. CAR in Halifax today: Hickey-Hamonic, Strait-Mayfield, Pelech-Pulock. Greiss/Williams in goal.

Earlier in the day, the Isles announced their first planned training camp cuts (Josh Ho-Sang was cut...earlier than expected). Among the list of cuts were goalies Kevin Poulin and Chris Gibson, as the Isles start to prep for a more precisely divided week of NHL and AHL camp.
The guys on waivers have to clear before being assigned to AHL Bridgeport, but they are bound there eventually. Ryan Pulock and Scott Mayfield, two top blueline prospects vying for an NHL job, remain. For now.
The Canes lineup is expected to include Eric Staal and twice-castaway-Blackhawk Kris Versteeg, among others.
