The Islanders have announced their lineup for tonight's preseason game against the Devils at Barclays Center. The game will be seen on MSG+, starting at 7 pm. It's the only preseason game on the team's home channel, so I suggest tuning in.
The Islanders lineup is a mixed bag of the good, the incubating, and the hmmmm?
Isles Roster
Goaltenders:
33 - Christopher Gibson
60 - Kevin Poulin
Defensemen:
3 - Travis Hamonic
6 - Ryan Pulock
24 - Kevin Czuczman
37 - Brian Strait
42 - Scott Mayfield
44 - Calvin de Haan
Forwards:
18 - Ryan Strome
21 - Kyle Okposo
26 - James Wright
27 - Anders Lee
29 - Brock Nelson
45 - Justin Vaive
51 - Frans Nielsen
52 - Ross Johnston
71 - Michael Dal Colle
72 - Anthony Beauvillier
90 - Kirill Petrov
91 - John Tavares
The Devils don't have a set line-up outside of goalie Cory Schneider yet, but Tom Gulliti of The Bergen Record believes Tyler Kennedy might see some action against the last team to employ him.
UPDATE: All About The Jersey has the Devils personnel and line combos now.
Okposo, Nielsen, Hamonic and Strome sat out the split squad games on Monday. Poulin didn't see any action but Gibson, who came over in the Michael Grabner trade, was on the losing end of the 5-3 loss to the Flyers at Allentown.
Petrov impressed pretty much everyone with his performance at Barclays Center and is already making a case to stick around when camp breaks.
The Strait/Mayfield combination was derided pretty hard in the comments (surprise, surprise) and we'll see if they're paired again tonight. If they are, consider this your official engraved reminder that it's preseason so don't sweat it. Yet.
UPDATE:
Arthur Staple tweets the lines and pairings.
