New York Islanders Preaseason Game vs. Philadelphia Flyers Set for Sept. 21 in Allentown, PA

Out in Bethlehem, they're killing time.

The New York Islanders will play a preseason game at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Sept. 21 against the host Philadelphia Flyers.

The year-old arena, home of the Flyers' AHL affiliate the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, has never hosted an NHL game before. Tickets are on sale for Phantoms season ticket holders only right now, but general sales will begin on July 30. If you're within driving distance, go for it.

Our brethren and sistren at Broad Street Hockey are all over it already, including a few press-released words from Flyers president and buzzcut enthusiast Paul Holmgren on the historic game.

The Islanders haven't released their full preseason schedule yet, but it's probably coming shortly. We'll post the slate once it's released. But for now, since it's already stuck in your head, here's Long Island's own Billy Joel with his ode to Allentown, where I'm sure life remains exactly like it looks in this video.
