2015 NHL Draft: Order of selection, start time and TV coverage

My entire happiness suddenly does not rest on the draft and that feels weird.

The New York Islanders don't have a pick in the first two rounds and thus won't have any picks on Friday night...OR WILL THEY?

That doesn't mean the first night of the draft will be devoid of news, however. For one, it's expected to be a busy year for trades as numerous teams seek to move goalies, add goalies, shed high-paid players or -- oh yeah, this is important -- fit themselves under a very tight salary cap.

The Isles have:

  • 1st and 2nd round: None (Vanek trade)
  • 3rd round: Two picks, Florida's at 72, and their own at 82.
  • 4th round: One pick, their own at 112.
  • 5th round: None (Dan Boyle rights trade last summer).
  • 6th round: Their own at 172.
  • 7th round: Their own at...oh hell, it hardly matters once you reach 200, no? (It's 202 though.)

Details: What, where and how about this whole 'draft' thing?
