The Islanders will have to turn their two game losing streak into a two game winning streak if they wish to play any more games at all. The team currently trails three games to two in their season series and one more loss eliminates them from the playoffs. They'll have the advantage of the home crowd for this game.
It sounds like the Islanders will be without the services of Calvin de Haan, who was injured in the last game against the Capitals by a hit from Troy Brouwer. Both Scott Mayfield and Matt Donovan are stepping in to replace him and Griffin Reinhart, who saw his NHL debut in Game 5. Brock Nelson is in for Tyler Kennedy who made a very bad play last game and drew the ire of Jack Capuano.
This very well could be the last game in Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum history and thus the crowd should be extra lively. Let's go Islanders!
