2015 NHL Bracket Challenge: Join Lighthouse Hockey’s League

The National Hockey League has done an excellent (overbearing?) job of marketing the 2015 NHL Bracket Challenge, which is to say that you're probably thinking "WHO COULD PREDICT THIS?" right now, and that makes a marketing executive at the league office very happy.

So: we here at LHH (Ed. note: "we" is code for "Willhoft" because apparently he was bored at work today) decided to create a league that's free to join and open to anyone and everyone.

Unless you're one of those people who doesn't "really follow hockey" but fills out a bracket "just for fun, you guys" and ends up winning your office pool every damn year. Don't you ruin this for us. DON'T YOU DO IT.

You can join the LHH league here or by going to NHL.com/bracket, clicking on Leagues, and searching for "LHH." Either way is fine. We're not here to tell you how to live your life. In case this is your first time filling out a bracket—highly unlikely, but still—here's the lowdown on how it works. From the league's website:

How to Play:

• The Stanley Cup® Playoffs Bracket Challenge tests your ability to predict the outcome of the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Entry is free and simple:

• Click on a team logo to choose the winner of each series matchup for each round of the Playoffs, starting with the 1st Round. Be sure to select a Stanley Cup® Champion!
• Predict the series length for each 1st Round matchup to earn potential bonus points (available for the 1st Round only).
• Predict the total number goals that will be scored during the Stanley Cup® Final.
• Save your bracket and be sure to share it with your friends and family.
• You can change your picks up until the start of the first game of the Playoffs.

Basic Scoring:

• Earn 10 points by picking the correct winner of each series for the 1st Round.
• Earn 25 points by picking the correct winner of each series for the 2nd Round.
• Earn 50 points by picking the correct winner of each series for the Conference Finals.
• Earn 100 points by picking the correct winner of the Stanley Cup® Final.

Bonus Points:

• Earn 3 bonus points by correctly picking the 1st Round winners, plus the total number of games played in each series.

Tiebreaker:

• Predict the total number goals that will be scored during the Stanley Cup® Final.

There won't be LHH-sponsored prizes—unless Dom is feeling generous and/or currently sitting on an unreported pile of cash, Joker-from-The-Dark-Knight style—but the NHL is offering some pretty cool stuff, which is cool:

• 1st Prize: V.I.P. trip to the NHL Awards in Las Vegas and a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
• 2nd Prize: Samsung Curved SUHD 55-inch TV and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
• 3rd Prize: Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
