[Video] German Islanders Fan Cave Creators' Visit to Nassau Coliseum

Win or lose, this is frankly what makes sports fandom great.

You might remember the indescribably comprehensive fan cave constructed by two diehard New York Islanders fans in Germany. We featured it last fall when they first posted video, at the eve of the preseason when not even the biggest optimist could've imagined the outstanding season the Isles have had thus far.

Well, the season has gone incredibly so far, and the fun hasn't stopped since the two Germans made their pilgrimage to Nassau Coliseum in December, including tailgating with fans and partying with Section 329. Regular readers and commenters here know that some Lighthouse Hockey regulars were among those showing them a good time.

If you missed it on the broadcast (or just want to watch again), the MSG+ feature interviewing them is now available online (at the top of this post) and through the Isles site, with footage of them taking in games, meeting Michael Grabner, and taking some party shots with LHH regulars and other fans.

This follows the Tero the Finn's pilgrimage we featured in November, a maiden voyage to the Coliseum after 30 years as a fan. Not to mention countless other trips we hear about from people making their last -- and sometimes only -- visit to the Coliseum in its final season.

With so many stories like this, it's already been a special one. However the season ends, there's no changing that.
