The Battle of New York has a new battlefield.
For the first of only four meetings this season between the Rangers and Islanders, they will hash it out on national television in Brooklyn as part of NBC Sports' "rivalry night" telecast.
The Islanders are coming off a homestand-opening win over the Colorado Avalanche on Monday night. The Rangers recently stopped their first skid of the season (0-3 vs. Montreal, Boston and Philadelphia) with a win at home the same night against the Hurricanes.
But Derek Stepan is out injured, and Emerson Etem is out sick, initiating the recall of Tanner Glass for their fourth line tonight.
Jaroslav Halak starts in net for the Isles.
