[Dan note: apologies for the order but because of a technical snafu, the other team links are going first today. I need to get better at HTML.]
Whatever, man
- Elliotte Friedman on the P.K. Subban arbitration situation and how it can affect the relationship between player and team. Exhibit A: Shea Weber, who apparently went on a sales tour to a few teams when he was an RFA.
- Robin Lehner stays for three more years in Ottawa, land of the eternal goalie platoon. [Silver Seven]
- Steve Mason has a broken pinky finger. Brian Boucher time? [Flyers]
- Not content with spending a trillion dollars on the Sabres, Terry Pagula wants to buy the Buffalo Bills
- Where did they get this coach? Where did they get any of these guys? Usually, from the office down the hall. [Russian Machine]
- Vive Les Nordiques! [SB Nation's Lost Franchises]
- Not-a-Nordique Eric Lindros along with John LeClair and Eric Desjardins will be inducted into the Flyers Hall of Fame that they somehow weren't already inducted into. [Broad Street Hockey]
- Family Ties Friday: Stasny blood lines run deep | Famous Hockey Families of Color include the Subban, Nurse and Vilgrain families.
- Arrested meth kingpin was a big Canadiens fan, made drugs that looked like iconic Habs logo. Or Breaking Bleu, Blanc et Rouge. I think Habsenburgh was used already. [Puck Daddy]
Islanders stuff
- NHL.com starts its 30 Teams in 30 Days countdown today and first up are the Islanders. Five stories released this morning: Prepping for final Coliseum season | Five Questions for 2014-15 | Is this The Year of the Brock? | Top 10 prospects highlighted by defensemen | Fantasy preview for players and poolies.
- Point Blank starts running down a list of greatest moments in Nassau Coliseum history. This first shouldn't be a surprise.
- The Log Off podcast, featuring Derek from Fear the Fin and writer Dimitri Filipovic, previews the Eastern Conference and is really high on your Islanders this season (Islanders bit starts around 34:00, but the whole thing is well worth a listen).
- Here's a poll for Greatest Islander Evereverever sponsored by Geico, who really should have used some of the money I pay them to hire a better web designer.
-
#Isles fans, it's up to you to determine 15 players from this list of 25 for the @GEICO Greatest Islanders - http://t.co/nwYc3alLas
