The Isles continued to fill their goalie stables in the 4th round and follow up by selecting a familiar name.

Garth Snow continued to roll the goalie dice with his first pick in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL draft, selecting G Linus Soderstrom out of Sweden with the 95th overall pick.

Soderstrom, who won't be 18 until the end of August,  played with Djurgarden of the Swedish Junior League last season.  He posted a .915 Save % in 23 games with the club.

Soderstrom was also part of the Swedish Under 18 team, but his numbers weren't as impressive when he started playing against the world's best at his age group.  Soderstrom had only an .899 Save % at the WJC U18 over 6 games played in that tournament.

The 6' 4" Swede ended up the 3rd rated European goalie in the draft, two spots ahead of Ilya Sorokin, who the Isles drafted in the third round.

With their second pick in the fourth round, the Islanders selected D Devon Toews with the 108th overall pick.

This will be the second Toews Garth Snow has drafted as the Islanders GM. But so there is no confusion, Devon is not the brother of David and Jonathan.

Toews is actually an old man at 20 years old and will be going into his sophomore season at Quinnipiac University.  In his freshman season, Toews registered just 1 goal, but added 16 assists in 37 games.

Toews is not a big defenseman by any means, standing at only 5' 11" and weighing in somewhere between 155 and 175 lbs (depends on who you ask).
