A little over a month after completing the sale, and a week after the original media event was cancelled, the Islanders will introduce new minority owners Jonathan Ledecky and Scott Malkin at a press conference today at 3 pm.

After talks with Philadelphia hedge fund manager Andrew Barroway broke down, Islanders owner Charles Wang finalized a deal at a higher price tag with Ledecky, an entrepreneur, philatropist and one-time co-owner of the Washington Capitals, and Malkin, who runs a luxury items outlet mall outfit in England. Barroway sued Wang for bad faith negotiations, but later ended up buying the Arizona Coyotes and dropping the suit in an exchange found only in professional sports and Three Stooges episodes.

Outside of the team's official announcement, Ledecky and Malkin have been pretty silent about the transaction. Today, they'll introduce themselves to fans at Nassau Coliseum, where the Islanders will play for this season before moving to Brooklyn's Barclays Center in 2015-16.

The presser will be streamed at the Islanders Official Site. Here's your place to talk, worry, cheer, trust or read between the lines.
