***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ***
LUONGO CENTRAL, SPORTSNET'S NEW DAILY ROBERTO LUONGO ANALYSIS SHOW, PREMIERES THIS FRIDAY WITH A SIX-HOUR KICK-OFF EXTRAVAGANZA.
TORONTO - April 4, 2013 - Roberto Luongo will be the sole focus of Sportnet's new Luongo CentralTM, a daily roundtable featuring the best NHL analysts and insiders breaking down the latest news surrounding the Canucks' goalie that premieres Friday, April 5th.
Luongo CentralTM will be the first of its kind, a cutting-edge sports show centering only around a single player for six hours a day. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, all of the most up-to-the-minute Roberto Luongo news, stats and predictions will only be found on Luongo CentralTM
Panelists Damian Cox, Billy Jaffe, John Shannon, Doug McLean, Mark Spector, John Garrett, Bruce Garrioch, Marty McSorley, Garry Valk, Brad May, Pat Quinn, Mike Keenan and Denis Potvin will examine Luongo's most recent games, walk viewers through Luongo's practices and size up each piece of Luongo's equipment. Reporters Ian Mendes, Roger Millions and Gene Principe will also provide in-depth investigations of Luongo trade rumours, possible Luongo trade rumours and possibly bogus Luongo trade rumours from across the NHL.
Luongo's Twitter "tweets" from the internet will be read live by host Christine Simpson and translated for viewers by Luongo expert Nick Kypreos in a segment called The Strombone ZoneTM.
Fans will also get immediate "Ice Alert!" updates if Luongo leaves the ice at any time during practice.
"Reaction to this year's trade deadline show, which turned out to be five hours of Luongo analysis and one hour of trade news, was extraordinary," said Sportsnet VP of news and information programming Scott Woodgate. "Fans tuned in by the millions to see if Luongo had been traded, what he was doing at that moment, where he could potentially be traded to, and what teams could trade for him.
"Sportsnet is all about giving Canadian sports fans what they want and, obviously, want they want is minute-by-minute Luongo news. So we'll give it to them."
The ground-breaking Luongo CentralTM will fill viewers' Luongo needs in a way never before seen in sports broadcasting. Six hours of content five days a week focused only on Roberto Luongo is the kind of extensive sports entertainment only Sportsnet can provide.
The special guests for Friday's debut episode of Luongo CentralTM will be Vancouver goalie Cory Schneider and Toronto goalie tandem James Reimer and Ben Scrivens.

This is a parody. And if anyone at Sportsnet actually goes through with this, I want an Executive Producer credit.
