So last night wasn't a mirage. It's really happening. An announcement New York Islanders fans haven't had the pleasure of seeing in far too long:
Single-game tickets for the first two rounds of the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs are going on sale at noon today (Wednesday, Apr. 24) to the general public here or via Ticketmaster.
They will become available for purchase at the Nassau Coliseum Box Office Friday, Apr. 26, at 9:30 a.m.
There is a limit of eight (8) tickets per game. If a refund is necessary due to games not played, fans can return the tickets to their original point of purchase.
Dates and opponents, of course, are to be determined. The league intends to open the playoffs Tuesday, April 30. Schedule and opponents will depend on arena availability and the Great God of Television, or more specifically, the Which Day Can Sidney Play? rule.
If you're getting tickets, feel free to share you plan and experience below.
The Diaspora: Hockey Bars in Your Woods?
Meanwhile, a question for those scattered about who will not be able to make pilgrimages to the Coliseum: Got any good hockey bars in your town? Ones that will play an Isles playoff game?
I've heard from readers around the continent asking about this topic, Dallas, Portland, Seattle, SoCal, Florida ... so might as well start the conversation here: Where will you follow along in your town?
