The Bridgeport Sound Tigers are without captain Colin McDonald and fellow forwards Casey Cizikas and David Ullstrom after their lockout recalls to the NHL club. They finished the weekend without Johan Sundstrom too.
Unfortunately, Sundström's absence was due to a high hit he received on Friday night, leaving the Sound Tigers short at center. They had another one of those hit-em-hard-and-early wins over Binghamton, 4-2, Friday night. Saturday didn't go as well, with Bridgeport failing to finish its chances -- and weird bounces finishing their opponents' -- in a 4-1 loss to Springfield.

In good injury news, Kirill Kabanov is now expected to skate with contact on Tuesday. He's been out a long time, so there's a road yet to go. But he remains a key prospect who needs to get lots of pro reps before the year is out.
The Sound Tigers remain in second place in the division, 12 points behind conference-leading Springfield.
While the Islanders begin a road trip Thursday, the Sound Tigers next play Friday and Saturday night with a two-for in Norfolk.
