No prospect is too young for Islanders minicamp.
No prospect is too young for Islanders minicamp.

Prospect camp is underway for the Islanders, with prospects old and new at Iceworks. They're all 23 or younger. Griffin Reinhart is in camp, but his equipment isn't (no grudge against the haulers though).

The Blue/White scrimmage is 6:30 p.m. Thursday and tickets are sold out, but it will be streamed live on IslandersTV. Get your looks at the new kids. Earlier in the year the rumor was prospect development camps were canceled out of some sort of CBA negotiating fear/ploy, but obviously that's not the case. Supposedly the Blues will have one in July as well.

Here's the official site with Nino Niederreiter on what he needs to do for next season. And here was IPB with Calvin de Haan on recovering from the shoulder injury.

The Draft Offer: The Post covers a little here, you probably saw Elliotte Friedman's thought piece here, Edmonton's Dave Staples' take is here, and Aaron Portzline (the Dispatch writer who reported the offer) is supposed to be on 97.1 The Fan at 1:30 EDT to discuss it and Rick Nash. Naturally our regular hashed out all angles in the discussion thread, and of course PGI delivered with a perfect Hollywood-inspired send-up.

Elsewhere, the KHL is confirmed for Brooklyn in mid-January with an, ah, odd dig at MSG.

In Washington, Adam Oates is tipped to be the next coach.

Restricted Free Agents: Here's a handy list of non-qualified restricted free agents (most of whom will presumably be UFAs on July 1 -- though some may work out a less-than-qualified new rate with their existing team). | Here's an argument for why a team should force Vancouver's hand with a one-year big offer for Corey Schneider. | Will any RFA get an offer sheet this year? The salary levels per compensation have gone up. | Meanwhile, the UFA crop is thin but voluminous.

Finally: The girls like to flirt with Nail on Twitter. What have we become?
