No Line Pictures has acquired all North American rights to "Se7en Is7anders De7ensemen," written, shot and directed by first-time filmmaker Furio Ben McGraw.
A 2012 Long Island Film Festival selection, "Is7anders" was picked up based on what was supposedly a very impassioned text message from McGraw to No Line's SVP of acquisitions, Arby Steinstein. "We're extremely excited to bring this thrilling film to audiences and to be working with Furio Ben McGraw on his debut release," Steinstein said. "We're also a little scared and concerned for his mental well-being. But, hey, that's Hollywood."
New York Islanders general manager Garth Snow stars in the harrowing true-life tale of a professional hockey team that selected only defensemen with seven consecutive draft picks in one single NHL Entry Draft. The film is based on a very recent incident in which a team somehow, against all reason, dared to leave a draft without taking a single forward. No release date has been set.
The newly posted IMDB page for "Se7en Is7anders De7ensemen" is after the jump.
UPDATE: Rumor has it that "Se7en Is7anders De7ensemen" is being adapted into an off-Broadway one-man show, with all of the prospect roles being played by Al Pacino.
