Hopefully this is a chance for storm-affected fans -- and fans with storm-affected family members -- to unwind and take their mind off Mother Nature for a little while.
The Bridgeport Sound Tigers opened up remaining tickets to this weekend's games free of charge, and the response has led to sellouts of [bank of some sort] Arena both Saturday night against the Hershey Bears and Sunday afternoon against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
The Sound Tigers players themselves are among the storm victims, with several returning to find flood-muddied streets or worse. Sounds like they all know they're among the lucky ones though, and they've been handing out tickets personally, so hopefully this becomes a special weekend of hockey.
Before tickets were gobbled up, Brandon DeFazio also offered you this message:
Lines from earlier this week looked like so:
Niederreiter-Cizikas-McDonald
Ullstrom-Sundstrom-Persson
DeFazio-Nelson-Watkins
Gallant-Backman-Riley
Halmo-Clark-MacKay
On defense:
Ness-Landry
Hamonic-McIver
Wishart-Donovan
Cantin-Hill
Maybe lop off the bottom row of each group and then see what changes are made for Saturday or Sunday given injuries and results.
Anders Nilsson was also skating but still not 100%, so don't look for him this weekend.
If you're watching online or showing up at the Arena, chat it up or let us know what you see in comments here. The Sound Tigers also tend to give in-game updates via Twitter.
Go Sound Tigers. Go normalcy.
