A weak start to the weekend for the Sound Tigers in Wilkes-Barre, as they never got on track until the third period of a 3-1 loss.
Eric Tangradi had all three goals, all on the powerplay, but the underlying story goes deeper than that, with Kevin Poulin left to fight off the wolves:
- CT Post: Beaten at 5-on-5 all night [Soundin Off blog] and generally flat until the third [Post]
- In the former link, coach Scott Pellerin sounds pleased with Max MacKay in his debut.
- From the other side: Powerplay prep rewarded for the Pens; and all high on Tangradi and his four-foot goals
- Official site recap, with the lines
- Box score
They try again at home tonight against the Monarchs, where David Ullstrom's return to health probably foretells a lineup change or two. Chat that one up in this thread as it happens.
And it's "Pink Rink Night." "All fans wearing pink tomorrow’s game will be invited onto the ice during intermission for a ribbon-forming ceremony, and all proceeds from tomorrow’s silent auction will benefit the Smilow Family Breast Health Center at Norwalk Hospital."
