The time has come.
As we Islanders fans enjoy what we hope to be the beginning of something really good, let's indulge ourselves and partake in one of the great traditions of hockey: Naming a line.
The combination of Michael Grabner, Frans Nielsen and Kyle Okposo seemed to pay off the moment Jack Capuano's hair put it into practice. It's a trio of three fan-favorites. So let's give 'em a fan-friendly name.
Just for reference, here's a list of ice hockey line nicknames for you to explore.
A few of my favorites are:
"The Legion of Doom": Eric Lindros, John LeClair and Mikael Renberg - 90's Flyers
"ZZ Pops": Zach Parise, Travis Zajac and old man Jamie Langenbrunner - current Devils
"The Bash Brothers": Fulton Reed, Ken Wu and Dean Portman - U.S.A., 1994 Junior Goodwill Games
and of course,
"The Trio Grande": Clark Gillies, Bryan Trottier and Mike Bossy - Islanders awesomeness
So, what do you think? Michael Grabner, Frans Nielsen and Kyle Okposo. What can we come up with?
