If Mike Mottau or Bruno Gervais made the goal-causing defensive mistakes Travis Hamonic and Andrew MacDonald made tonight, they'd be eaten alive by fans. But this one's on the historically struggling Islanders offense, which can't buy a bounce and appears to let that fact eat away at it as the game wears on.

The Islanders actually had a passable first period coming off the layoff and a strong second period with some good powerplay pressure. Those opportunities sadly produced zero results. By halfway through the third, boos rang through the Coliseum. After Nik Antropov nearly gifted the Islanders a tying goal -- it hit Ondrej Pavelec's left post -- Andrew MacDonald showed him how an own goal is done at the other end, icing the game.
The yin to this winless streak's yang, the Islanders defense, again left Rick DiPietro with few challenges. But that's for naught, as you do not win if you do not score.
This is our post-game instant-reaction plus/minus thread, where much angst shall be had. Angst away.
