Except for the too little-too late PP-aided comeback pressure (18 third-period shots), that was pretty awful. Several who deserve heavy criticism eventually came around to play better during the second half of the game -- which is faint praise indeed. Passengers? Yes.
In this young season the Islanders have lost twice to the Panthers, who themselves have been shut out twice. Before unleashing 18 shots in the third period tonight, they'd managed just 27 in their previous five periods.
