Travis Harmonic and Rhett Rakhshani both had a strong week.
Travis Harmonic and Rhett Rakhshani both had a strong week.

Bridgeport played three games this week, taking two of three. A Six - Five Shootout win over Springfield which included a Jon Sim Hat Trick, Sim scoring the winning shootout goal and Sim being named first star. A Six - One routing by Providence and a Four - One routing of Hartford (Sim two goals, first star again). That's five goals and two first first stars for Sim in three games. He already leads BP in Goals scored. Assisting on Sim's goals were #1 Rakhshani, Hisey #2 Hisey #3 Rakhshani, Hisey #4 Rakhshani, Hisey #5 Hisey, Hamonic.

Also scoring in the Springfield game was Justin DiBendetto [Joensuu, Ullstrom] and Ullstrom [Klementyev, Joensuu]. Scoring BP's lone goal against Providence (PP) was Rhett Rakhshani [Hisey, Hamonic]. Scoring against Hartford was Tony Romano [Yabolinski] and Jesse Joensuu (EN) [Romano, Colliton].

All three goalies played this week, with Nathan Lawson facing Springfield, 30 Saves on 35 Shots (4 for 5 on Shootout). Mikko Koskinen facing Providence, 31 Saves on 37 Shots. Kevin Poulin facing Hartford, 28 Saves on 29 shots and named second star of the game.

Natural Born Kirills

Kirill Petrov added a goal to put his season total at 14 GP, 4 G, 6 A, 10 Pts.

Kirill Kabanov played in 2 games (the official site lists 4 games? Not sure which one is right) for the Lewistown MAINEiacs. Either way he had no points, but it appears that they are still getting him acclimated to their system.

WHL, OHL, NCAA and Europe

Nino Niederreiter had two games this week and added two assists. He now has 1 G, 2 A, 3 Pts in 4 games back for the Portland Winterhawks.

The Oshawa Generals played three games this week, losing two by three or more goals. Tony DeHart finished the week -3 while adding an assist. Calvin De Haan finished -3 but had a point in every game, putting up 1 goal and 2 assists on the week.

Mississauga St. Michael's Majors won all three games they played this week. Casey Cizikas notched a goal, an assist and a +2 on the week. On the year he now has 17 points (10 G, 7 A) in 14 games.

I just realized this going through the game summary. All three of the Islanders in the OHL have leadership positions. De Haan and Cizikas are both the captains of their team, while DeHart is an alternate.

David Toews returned to action for the Brandon Wheat Kings, playing in two games. He finished with a goal and an even rating. He has 4 G, 3 A for 7 points in 8 games and a -2

Anders Lee played 2 games for Notre Dame adding a goal. He now has 7 G, 2 A, 9 Pts in 9 games. Bigger news, Anders was named the CCHA Rookie of the Month. Thanks to BC and everyone else that reported it.

Matt Donovan and the University of Denver played two games this week. Donovan finally got his first assist on the year and added his second. He's now at 3 G, 2 A, 5 Pts in 10 Games.

Brock Nelson got his first goal of the season, and now has 1 G, 3 A for 4 Pts in 10 games. His University of North Dakota teammate Jason Gregoire was held off the scoresheet and stands at 3 G, 4 A, 7 Pts in 10 games.

Jason Clark got time in three games this week, including last Saturday's game for Wisconsin. He still hasn't made it onto the scoresheet though.

Aaron Ness didn't add to his totals of 5 Assists after two Minnesota games this week.

Corey Trivino only played one game for Boston U and didn't notch a point. 6 GP 1 G, 2 A, 3 Pts

Brian Day of Colgate played 2 games this week, cooling off with only 1 assist. He's still at 7 Points (4 G, 3 A) in 6 games played.

Shane Sims played two games for OSU adding two assists on the season. 9 GP 1 G, 6 A, 7 Pts

Blake Kessel had his streak broken as he didn't add to his season totals. In 7 Games now he has 5 Assists for 5 Points. Kessel is part of the season opening interview, starting at 6:50.

Anders Nilsson only started one game for Lulea, giving up 3 goals on 38 shots. 9 GP 1.98 GAA and 9.05 SV%. Lulea played three games this week, so Nilsson might have lost his starting gig.

Cody Rosen is still 3rd on the depth chart for Clarkson University and has yet to see the ice after ten games.
