Amusingly, Brendan Witt is on IR retroactive to Jan. 8 -- so that "mild calf strain" has really flared up on him, just in time to allow Sean Bergenheim back in the lineup. Hey, I'm not going to complain: Whatever the team needs. We'll just call this "complication left over from a collision with an SUV."
Perhaps noticing that an interconference matchup with the Islanders puts chances of a fight somewhere between naga...nagonnaworkhereanymore and zero, the Wings are scratching Brad May and inserting Ville Leino. And wouldn't you? The Islanders are young and spunky and have some nice talent, but they're also, uh, "challenged" in the bottom half. So if you're the Wings, run your skill against our skill, and leave the meatheads at home.
