Islanders-Caps preview will be up later. A little distracted from tonight's game by the Murray madness -- seriously, what a hideous press release -- and the great playoff-affecting games last night. ... To the links!
- The big games (links to SBN blogs): Montreal stays afloat. But Florida keeps pace (Campoli scored his 10th). Nashville finally loses. Anaheim wins again. Minnesota: nicht nicht.
- Hockey Joe took in the NCAA regionals in Manchester (how many Verizon-named facilities are there?!) from some choice seats. He also had a nice rant on ESPN's predictable handling of coverage.
- Speak Swedish? No matter. This is a wild goal in any language. (Love the coaches' matching ties.)
Pressing Islanders Matters
- Kate Murray finally speaks (well, via press release) on the Lighthouse Project, and Tom Suozzi and Chris Botta each let her have it. Her benefit of the doubt: {poof}. Hi Queens, how ya' doin'?
-
Mark Streit is out tonight: 30th place is secure. Also: Gordon on the Witt shootout selection.
- Sample-size caveat, but: Isles are .476 with Martinek, .258 without. They're .321 with Witt, .588 without. Yep.
- Logan has a nice look at the MacDonald v. Danis battle. Joey goes tonight, and Danis hasn't helped himself the last three games.
- Botta was everywhere yesterday: With Gordon on injuries and possible causes; and roommate stories, including how Tambellini got Nielsen to stop snoring.
- Official Islanders site does its version of the Bruno Gervais rise.
- Before the latest Murray comedy, B.D. trained his sights on all four characters (we'll count Newsday as one) in this Lighthouse Project song and dance. He also reacts to the latest. Pop some popcorn, indeed.
There you have it. Never a dull day in Islanders country -- even when it should be.
