Best illustration of the injuries the Islanders have dealt with: Bruno Gervais is a healthy scratch tonight with Freddy Meyer's return. Gervais was logging serious minutes (second to Mark Streit some games) when there were few blueline bodies standing.

Other roster maneuvers from Logan, who notes the Isles have 22 actives on the NHL roster:

Kyle Okposo and Nate Thompson [were at the pre-game skate], but neither will be in the lineup tonight. Okposo (hand injury) suggested he might be ready for the Friday-Saturday back-to-back at Boston and home against Ottawa, respectively.

This will be Josh Bailey's 8th NHL game. That makes Saturday D-Day. In Logan's chat, he said, "I definitely expect Bailey to be here the rest of the season. ... Bailey's maturity makes the difference." Start sewing those #12 jerseys.
