According to one league executive, the New York Islanders believe in Hedman and plan on selecting the dynamic player with the No. 1 pick at the June 26 draft in Montreal.

— That's at least the second "source says Islanders plan on Hedman" type of reference I've seen recently. But you have to question whether anyone knows the Islanders' thinking -- and whether they even know themselves. Hedman doesn't even visit Long Island until Sunday. Take it all with a grain of salt. (I continue to salivate over both of the top two, honestly. But Ma-aahm, I want both.)

They went from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm yesterday and if they took lunch, I didn’t see them. I’ve never seen a team request to meet with so many prospects."
