This is not good:
"State police said Wednesday that Tonelli was charged last week after crashing his car along Interstate 684.
They say he was arrested at his home two hours after abandoning his smashed Lexus at a highway ramp in Harrison."
Hopefully he's OK and learns from this, etc. Thankfully he didn't hurt anyone. I try to steer clear of ex-athlete police ticker news unless it affects the team today, but this part of the AP story gave me pause:
"Tonelli is best known among Islanders fans for assisting on Bob Nystrom's game-winning overtime goal in Game 6 of the1980 Stanley Cup Finals against Philadelphia..."
I'm not so sure about that. He's best known among Islanders fans I know for busting his ass like his career depended on it on ever single shift.
