The New York Islanders and owner Charles Wang received a crushing blow with the defeat of their referendum to build a new Nassau Coliseum. That doesn't mean the end of the team, and it doesn't mean the 2011-12 season won't be worth following.

On the 32nd anniversary of their first Stanley Cup win and Bobby Nystrom's OT goal, the Islanders hope things go well in front of the Nassau County legislature.
