Above you'll see young Kevin Westgarth fighting
GrendelMitch Fritz. It was a spirited contest but I think Fritz won the fight because Westgarth tried to block every one of Fritz' punches with his face.
"For me it's mostly eye contact. When you get hit or hit someone, if that eye contact is still there longer than it needs to be, that’s pretty much all you need. You drop the gloves and that’s part of the game."
"I’m just looking forward and preparing like I can win a spot on the Islanders this year. I don’t want anyone to take my job. If I don’t make it, I’m gonna go down swinging."
"Georges looked at me and said, 'Do you want to do this?' and I obliged him. I knew at some point in the game I would have asked him, or he would have for sure given me a chance, and that’s exactly what Georges did. He gave a rookie like myself a chance to go. It wasn’t the best fight I’ve ever had, but you live and learn, and I thank Georges for giving me a chance."
