Jesse Joensuu said he will probably have surgery on his wrist, which has been bothering him since last year.
Matt Martin and Jesse Joensuu practiced, in their old familiar spots. Dustin Kohn was in town [in the stands with Garth Snow], but it doesn't sound as if he'll play while he's here.
"[Matt] Martin has done well. His game really translates nicely to the pros, no? And Mauldin's a lot of fun to watch. Bentivoglio has done a great job turning it up from the past couple of years. "
"A mighty crowded group of forwards, especially once you toss Reich into the mix to make 16. Before the injuries/legal issues of the end of October into early November, there was talk of two or three forwards going to Utah. One’s there, one may be on the way, and we’ll see if anything happens beyond that."
When they were using two nets, he had one to himself. When they used one, he got the bulk of the work, so much so that the team let out a kidding-around "heeey!" the first time DiPietro yielded to Scott Munroe… and then again the first time he yielded to Nathan Lawson.
"...as they stretched at the end, Bryan Trottier implored them to shoot the puck and get to the net. He invoked 'the biggest goal of my life:' Tonelli to Nystrom, a little pass across as Nystrom went to the net to tip it in. Hard not to get chills listening to that."
"For me it's mostly eye contact. When you get hit or hit someone, if that eye contact is still there longer than it needs to be, that’s pretty much all you need. You drop the gloves and that’s part of the game."
