When the Isles last won a playoff series

When the Isles last won a playoff series, you needed all of the gadgets in the top photo to do what the gadget in the bottom photo does today.

Is it time to bring this man back?

Maybe someone from BPT and a third rounder/second rounder for Luongo? Anyone else have any ideas?

POSTPONED -- DC-Area Meet-up, 3/7/13, Isles v. Rags @ 51st State (2512 L Street NW)

24

Well, it looks like we're gonna have to postpone this one, since it seems no one can make it on the short notice. Two upcoming options are: (1) getting together to watch this Saturday's afternoon game against the Caps; and/or (2) going as a group to watch the Isles-Caps game at the Verizon Center on Tuesday, March 26. What: Meet-up for DC-area LHHers to watch the Isles-Rangers game When: Thursday, March 7 @ 7:00 pm Where: 51st State Tavern, 2512 L Street NW. (I have not been there, but it looks to be close to the Foggy Bottom Metro.) Why: Because it's the Isles playing the Rag$. (Duh.) And we need a few strong voices to represent the Blue and Orange. Who: Hopefully, you. Sound off in the comments section so I know how many seats to save. (edited 3/7/13 @ 2:00pm)

How Would You Rename Isles (If You Had To)?

Hey Guys....Just for Fun....I was wondering How Isles fans would Rename the Team if they had to rename the team as a condition of the move to Brooklyn. Note: U dont have to call them the Broooklyn _____. If U want to retain New York as your team Location that is OK?

More Fascinating work from Eric at NHLNumbers, he has examined an alternate method of determining the quality of competition players face, using Time on Ice. This Chart shows the time of Ice of defensemen faced while each player is on the ice, and the time of ice of forwards faced while each player is on the ice. The greater time on ice, the better a player is thought by his coaches to be. Why is this fascinating? Well, consider: The top forwards of a team will face the top defensemen, but not naturally the top forwards of an opponent (but rather the defensive forwards). The top defensive forwards of a team will face the top opposing forwards, but not the top opposing defensemen. Only two way players will face both top forwards and defensemen. In this chart, showing the Islanders in 2011-2012, we see the following: Tavares-Moulson face top defensemen and top forwards (the sign of 2 way players facing the best of the best of all worlds.) Nielsen and Grabner meanwhile face the top forwards, but not the top defensemen - because after all, they're the defensive group. The other forwards all lag behind (Though PAP fits in the middle).

So my Pop won this hat at a charity auction. It's signed by the 2011-2012 Islanders. For those of you who don't know my Pop is a die hard Rags fan and gave the hat to me. Names I made out: Calvin de Haan and PA Parenteau and that's about it. Anyone out there know any more?
