No, the Islanders don't have a new coach. It's still Jack Capuano. But this Metro New York subheading on a story about Michael Dal Colle gives a large segment of Islanders fans a glimpse into one of their most cherished dreams. Thanks to reader BillfromdaBronx for pointing this out in today's Bits post.
If you're looking to score tickets for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final at Nassau Coliseum between the Islanders and Team TBA, curiously delusional and/or hilariously in need of an update ticket site NewYorkEvents365.com has you covered. According to NewYorkEvents365, the game is scheduled for Friday, June 5 at 3:30 am, a real change of pace for the NHL, who have apparently finally decided to tap into the under-served West Coast night owl hockey fan market.
Except for the Islanders not actually playing right now and Nassau Coliseum being cleaned out and shuttered, everything here seems perfectly legit. Looking forward to the game!
Who will be the first to do it for Pierre?....clearly I mean Turgeon...not McGuire. That would be weird.
Today's all about the Coliseum, but that doesn't mean we can't appreciate the Islanders future.
Here's Josh Ho-Sang getting the Ice Dogs on their board in Game 1 of their playoff series against Oshawa. Ho-Sang carries into the zone, spins away from his defender, looks up and sees teammate Jordan Maletta open on the other side. Ho-Sang hits him with a cross-ice one-handed backhand pass and Maletta's shot/pass is tipped by Billy Jenkins for the goal.
Niagara lost 5-2 with fellow Islanders 2014 draft pick Michael Dal Colle netting two goals and an assist.
