Outside of Frans Nielsen does anyone else have serious issues with our lack of drafting and developing talent outside of North America?

It seems to me that to develop a good NHL team, you can’t just largely limit yourself to North America?

I mean, whom have we drafted and developed outside of NA in last 10+ years? Nino we played our part in screwing up, Ullstrom we yanked around a bunch IMO, Kabanov’s situation has been brought on by mostly himself I guess, but I still wonder if we aren't playing our part with him too. Nilsson hasn’t developed, Koskinen was 3rd rung and jettisoned off to Europe etc.

I guess we have Sundstrom, Persson, Pedan, and now Collberg in pipeline, but they’re obviously not contributing at the NHL yet. We just signed Pelech (from Canada), but haven’t signed Pokka yet – his team is still in playoffs so that might be why he's not signed? It’ll be telling to me whether we sign Pokka and if Petrov decides to join us.

What do others think?
