"OH MY GOD, WE'RE HAVING A FIRE (not FIAR).....sale." -Tobias Fünke
Hockey and the Islanders are as big a part of my life as they’ve always been, but certain other things have run their course for me. As a result, in an attempt to downsize and clear out a little bit of my remaining debt, I’ve decided to sell a lot of the sports memorabilia I’ve been collecting for the past 25+ years.
The upshot for you, fellow Isles fan, is that I’m making a lot of this open to the good people of Lighthouse Hockey first, before it even goes on eBay. Just about everything comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (where it doesn't, it's because it was signed in front of me). If you’re interested in anything, shoot me an email at email@example.com, I’d be happy to mail it over (shipping is obviously extra). Also, I'd like to stick to the prices listed, but I'd be happy to listen to any offers (cash only, not interested in trades).
The Big Stuff
First up, there’s a 16x20 signed by the Core of the Four - everyone who was a member of all 4 Cup champions, right down to Al Arbour and Ron Waske! It’s a great way to commemorate what is, was, and always will be the greatest dynasty in sports. $400
Framed 16x20 signed by the entire Miracle on Ice team…. $1,000 (This one’s not negotiable….sorry guys)
I have a pennant here signed by the 92-93 Islanders, which my uncle won at a Booster Club event. Check it out and commemorate the last Islanders team to win a playoff round, even though I hope that isn’t true in a year! $250
The Goal: Tonelli, to Nystrom….need I say more? $75
Battlin’ Billy, doing his thing…. $50
8x10s with the Cup, $50 each:
Kenny Morrow, after Believing in Miracles but before running Pro Scouting for the Isles: $40
An 8x10 of John Tavares celebrating his first NHL goal….I’d say it was against the Penguins, but I’ll hold my tongue out of respect for Sidney Crosby. $75 (I also have a 3x5 of JT from his rookie season I’d part with for $50 - let me know)
A commemorative panel of the Miracle on Ice, signed by Jim Craig and Kenny Morrow, including a recording where you can re-play Al Michaels’ famous call. $100
Bryan Trottier Puck - $40
Mike Bossy Puck, commemorating his 573 goals in only 10 seasons...Bossy be praised! $40
A signed 16x20 of Alexei Yashin from his first Islanders season, battling I want to say Jocelyn Thibault of the Penguins. (I’d say the Penguins were awful then, but again out of respect for Sidney Crosby I’ll hold my tongue.) $25, or 10 years, $87.5 million.
Here’s a Michael Grabner 8x10, en route to a breakaway where he likely didn’t score a goal (I know, really went out on a limb with that prediction). #FreeGrabs40 from my basement, for a fitting $40
If you have some mid-2000s Isles nostalgia, and maybe if you're a BU fan, nothing can beat this! Orange 3rd jerseys, DP, AND Shawn Bates? Shockingly, given the subjects in the picture, it has never shattered, been concussed, blown out a hip, or had to be scratched from my wall for "general frame soreness." $70
Here’s an 8x10 of "Cousin" Micheal Haley squaring off with Brent Johnson, from that memorable game in 2011, but before that time Eric Godard jumped off the bench and Dan Bylsma selflessly and heroically tried everything, EVERYTHING, to stop him. Buy it before Mario finds out and stops signing autographs in protest! $15.66 (to troll Mario)
From the What Could Have Been department, we have this 8x10 of #CurrentWild Nino Niederreiter….it’ll make the perfect addition to your dartboard or the inside of a urinal, at least until its agent demands a trade to your master bedroom. $15, or a picture of Cal Clutterbuck and a 3rd round pick
An 8x10 of Adrian Aucoin, a fun reminder of the early 2000s. $15
From the fun 90s nostalgia department, we have the king of TEH GRITZ, Mick Vukota himself. Send this picture out there if the rags are running wild and you need to lay down the law. He signed this for me at the 92-93 team autograph signing. $15
Tommy Soderstrom, in his full glory, crazy helmet and all…..for only $10
Vladislav Tretiak, in full CCCP regalia, comes up next….he’ll be a great addition to your wall, as long as you don’t swap it out for a picture of Vladimir Myshkin at the worst possible time (not that anyone would do that). $25
Sean Couturier, from his Drummondville Voltigeurs days...he might be a Flyer, but it’s a fun piece. $15
Thanks everyone - hope to find good homes for all this stuff, and who knows, maybe there's a goodie or 2 to throw in if you want to get something!
