Don't most Yankee fans root for the Rangers
? Or is it just that most Ranger fans root for the Yankees? Why is the Stadium series game an Islander home game? Considering the Rangers are getting three games at the Garden against the Islanders
and due to the Stadium series game being an Islander home game; the Isles will only get one game against the Rangers at the NVMC, is that fair? Will there be more Ranger fans at the Yankee Stadium game than Islander fans?
I was checking out the media coverage for the press conference at Yankee stadium for the Stadium series and saw that the Nets are now receiving coverage on the Yes network. Since the Islanders are moving to Brooklyn and the owner of the Rangers (Dolan) also owns the MSG network would it make sense for the Islanders to start a relationship with either the Yes network or SNY (Sports Net New York)? This started me think again about if Yankee fans are Ranger fans and Islander fans are Met fans.
I believe the Islanders have a very good and financially beneficial contract with the MSG network but, I'm not sure if it helps sell the Islander brand. As we know the Islander game don't always get the HD channels.
As the Islanders move to Brooklyn should they be looking to leave the MSG network and look to hook up with the Yes network or SNY? And if so which one?
Are Yankee fans who root for the Islanders the same Islander fans that are screaming for the Islanders to sign big free agents? Are Islander fans that are Met fans the one's who are patient with the rebuild and willing to wait for prospects to turn the team into a winner?
Shouldn't the Mets, Nets, Islanders and Jets
all be on SNY? The Ranger and Knicks be on MSG? And the Yankees and Giants be on YES? Oh and the Devils
should be on NJ public TV, I guess.
