Kovalchuk Retires

Official retirement annoucement

In my opinion, anyone can go home if they so desire. The lockout probably made this even easier for him to decide to go home rather than play in New Jersey.

However I do think he is being VERY SELFISH to the NJ Devil organization. He should have told them before free agency began so the devils could have prepared themselves better. Now this year there is nobody else to grab basically with all the good free agents off the market.

Great scorer but always seemed a bit selfish to me (including watching him play in Atlanta live)
