Your Moment of Nabby: Remember the theme song

The Islanders close out their home schedule with a win, and Stan Fischler tries to amp up Evgeni Nabokov with a theme song before they hit the road.

To a man in post-game interviews after last night's 5-2 win over Florida, the New York Islanders acknowledged a sloppy second period as they coasted a bit with a big lead over the Panthers. "Foot off the gas," "got sloppy" and such were the phrases. (You can see several clips at IslesTV.)

But they got the job done with some help from goaltender Evgeni Nabokov, which left a good finish to Fan Appreciation Night and good vibes as Stan Fischler continued his seasonlong theater with the goaltender, starting with asking how the goalie played through after taking an elbow to the head, and concluding with, "Remember the theme song?"

Jack Capuano's Post-Game

Notes Cizikas' upper body interview and some question about Josh Bailey. Health updates to come. Fischler also chimes in during this presser to suggest Michael Grabner is "scoring goals he's never scored before."

The Islanders hit the road now, first to Canada with games in Toronto and Winnipeg on Thursday and Saturday, then finishing up with three games in four nights next week.

If things break juuuust right in Canada, then next week could be almost elementary. However they get it done: We Want Play-offs.
