Really? Am I missing something here? I didn't realize that the reincarnation of Billy Smith/Ken Dryden/ and Grant Fuhr was on his way to the big club. Is this what we have allowed ourselves to get juiced up about? I could care less who the backup goaltender is going to be. I would have preferred DP to stay here because by us sending him down, it only makes the "inept spotlight" shine brighter on this organization. I understand that Poulin may be the future and we should give him a shot to play in the NHL but it's not like the guy has been lighting it up in the AHL. He is not even going to supplant Nabby as the starter.....so what's the point?
I am sure that there are plenty of members that are going to scoff at this post or my point of view and chastise me for not knowing what i am talking about, but, does this move make any sense at this point in the season? There are around 30 games to go so how many games is this guy going to play? Are we going to trust him to play 10 games? 15? the remainder of the season? No. Nabby is still the starter and will be for the remainder of the season. So the question begs to be asked:
Is Poulin better served to play the remainder of the Bridgeport season and hone his talents or ride the pine and play every 5th game? Which means he will play like 6 games.... I don't like the move one bit and it is not b/c i am a DP supporter. I just don't see him getting enough game action to make him better for next year.
You want me to get excited? That is for another post....i don't want to trash Okposo and his stellar play in this post.
