Tonight's Loss to the Capitals has my 7yr old crying going to bed...So many losses. He says to me - "Dad we had this game won..how can they possibly lose with a minute left and they are on a power play?". He has gone to 6 Islander games this year and they have lost 5 of those.
My son is really good hockey player, his team wins most of their games by huge margins. He understands hockey so well its really hard for him stick with this team when they can not stick together themselves?
I've been an islanders fan for 36 years and I am 44 years old, so for me its just "my team". For my son its - well why should I support this team if they can't play the game to win and realize their own talents? And for the first time tonight - I really did not know what to tell him.
