Why every season do we have to watch the Marty Reasoners or Colin McDonalds or Brad Boyes or Keith Aucoins...guys who had no success or whose previous success is behind them.
Why not give a shot to Brock Nelson, Ryan Strome, Nino, Matt Donovan, Aaron Ness and Johan Sundstrom?
Are you telling me the sweedish line of Sundstrom, Persson and Ullstrom isn't better than Reasoner and McDonald with Ullstrom? Or Matt Martin and Aucoin?
If you put Nino on the line with JT and Moulson he would score 30 goals. The reason why he struggled last season is because they buried him on the fourth line with Matt Martin and Marty Reasoner. Not going to generate many scoring chances there.
One thing for certain with Nino, and that's he can put the puck in the net. Why on earth he isn't up here pairing with JT is beyond frustrating and screams idiocy from the top.
Wouldn't Ryan Strome be a much better option to center for Grabner and Okposo or Bailey when he gets back? Nielsen then can be fit with the other and paired with Boyes.
A 48-game season with nothing to lose is the perfect time to get these younger guys acclimated and playing together, all while letting youth lead for the future. Instead, wasting fans time with retreads and has beens will only make it an empty arena. Fans, if they are going to watch a team that can't score, would rather watch a young team that is learning to play.
Something is wrong when it's obvious to fans what should be done, and the front office does something totally different.
