The New York Islanders defenseman continues to play with his KHL team and will once again miss training camp on Monday.

New York Islanders defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky will miss training camp with the New York Islanders on Monday for "personal reasons," according to Katie Strang of ESPN.

Per Visnovsky's agent, the veteran defenseman will remain in the KHL with Slovan Bratislava, whom he played for during the course of the NHL lockout. Visnovsky's desire to continue to play in Europe and not honor his NHL contract threatens to be the first true test of the agreement between the league and the KHL, which states the Russian hockey league will not allow players to play who are under an NHL contract.

According to Roman Jedlicka of TV NOVA Sport, Visnovsky was on the Slovan Bratislava team bus on Monday.

Set to earn $3 million this season and count $5.6 million against the cap, Visnovsky was traded to the Islanders from theAnaheim Ducks on June 22. The veteran attempted to block the trade and filed a grievance through the NHLPA, with an arbitrator ruling against Visnovsky and upholding the trade.

Visnovsky, after producing 68 points in 81 games in 2010-11, scored six goals and registered 21 assists in 68 games last season with Anaheim.
