With training camp starting this weekend and the new season starting next weekend, you'd figure one of the key decisions Garth Snow has to make is what to do with Nino Neiderreiter. Nino is currently ranked 8th among AHL scorers with 17 goals and 17 assists in 34 games. Nino seems to have learned A LOT about what he needs to do and where he needs to be in order to be a productive scorer. But could he benefit from remaining in the AHL for the remainder of the year or has he spent enough time in Bridgeport that it's worth bringing him back to the Island? One other matter to consider is the AHL All-Star game which you'd figure Nino is guaranteed to be selected for. Would it be worth it to let Nino play in an All-Star game (granted, it's only the AHL All-Star game but some may think the kid could use as much ego-stroking as possible) and THEN promote him to the NHL? (The AHL All-Star game is Jan. 28, by the way.)
