Or, We Can Talk New York Islanders Prospects (NHL Top 100)

Brock Nelson will be improving his stock in AHL Bridgeport.

Corey Pronman's NHL prospect rankings at Hockey Prospectus are always good fodder, and the latest NHL Top 100 is out.

If you're new to his rankings, or if you haven't read his rationale in a while, you'll definitely want to check out the links in that article to better understand the skills and criteria he's using.

Suffice to say eligibility for the list is similar to but not quite the same as (and probably better than) the eligibility for the NHL's Calder trophy.

The New York Islanders prospects on the list begin with Ryan Strome in the top 10, at #9 just behind 2011 classmate Dougie Hamilton. Among Islanders reps, Kirill Kabanov is next at #23 (and if you're new to Pronman's rankings, he's been high on Kabanov all the way back to his draft year.)

The full Top 100 is here. Islanders on the list, including a trio of defensemen bunched together in the 70s:

9. Ryan Strome
23. Kirill Kabanov
67. Brock Nelson
72. Matt Donovan
73. Calvin de Haan
75. Griffin Reinhart
86. Scott Mayfield

Any quibbles? (For reference, our last Top 25 Isles Under 25 is here. And here is a comparison of that to Pronman's top 10 Isles prospects.)
