Visnovsky wants to cancel trade
Confirmed via Staple tweet: @StapeNewsday: Lubomir Visnovsky has filed a grievance through the NHLPA to void his trade to #Isles, claiming his no-trade clause is still valid. Just found this in a Swedish hockey site. Visnovsky claims to have a modified no trade clause in his contract from when he signed it with LA Kings or Edmonton (article says Edmonton but a commenter claims he signed with the Kings before being traded to Edm) , which he claims to be valid also after the trade to Anaheim. The clause supposedly states that he can select a list of 10 clubs he can be traded to, but he was not asked for a list before being traded to the Islanders. On his agent's (Neil Sheehy) advice he thus aim to go to an arbitration panel over this to cancel the trade. Another Nabokov like situation where the player does not want to play for Isles if this is true. Quite disheartening.
