Isles trying to acquire Bobby Ryan
Source confirms #Isles asked Ducks last week about Bobby Ryan, who'd be perfect rebuild next-step. Nothing close yet.

Didn't see any discussion yesterday regarding Chris Botta's tweet that the Islanders are trying to trade for Ducks winger Bobby Ryan. It would be an incredible addition to the roster if Snow could pull it off. Botta's tweet seems to suggest that negotiations between Snow and Bob Murray continue. My primary question is, can the Islanders afford to give up what it would take to acquire Bobby Ryan? I mean, if I'm Bob Murray, and I get a phone call from Garth Snow asking me what I want in return for Bobby Ryan, I tell him I want John Tavares. That trade obviously ain't happening. So what's an alternative trade offer that Murray would accept? And would it be an offer the Islanders can afford to do?
