Cox: A Lesson From Leaf's History: Why you don't rush teenagers to the NHL

I don't generally read Damien Cox (he's too much of a Burke homer for me), but this article in today's Toronto Star caught my attention. It's a bit long but a very educational read actually. It includes a laundry list and discussion of teenagers ruined by the Leafs, including 3 top teenage Dmen called to NHL in one season. The jist of it is, the Leafs no longer do this, and now follow the "Detriot" model, which of course is the former "Torrey-Islander" model, and is also a luxury for teams with depth.
